Engine Repair

There’s A Lot More To Maintaining Your Engine Than Just Getting Your Oil Changed

At Parkway Auto Care we perform all types of engine repairs from minor to major. Our years of engine repair experience proves that a little attention in all areas of maintenance will keep your engine running hundreds of thousands of miles.

We’ve helped many customers enjoy safe and reliable vehicles without major engine repairs by simply paying attention to:

Engine Tune-Up: Most engines today have an expected spark plug life of up to 100,000 miles. Those estimates are based on laboratory testing and don’t take into account the extreme weather and driving conditions in Minnesota. We recommend a complete tune-up at 60,000 miles.

Timing Belt: Your cars timing belt makes sure the camshaft and valves stay in sync with the pistons. When it breaks or slips due to normal wear and tear, the pistons can collide with the valves causing damage to these critical components. It’s always cheaper to replace a timing belt before it’s broken, so a little preventive maintenance will save you many hundreds of dollars. Most manufacturers recommend 60,000 to 90,000 mile intervals, so let us know the last time the belt was changed.

Water Pump: Every internal combustion engine running in today’s vehicles uses a water pump to circulate engine coolant anti-freeze to keep it cool and within an acceptable temperature range.

Head Gasket Repair: The worst enemy of your engines head gaskets is overheating. Excessive heat causes metal components to expand and warp and then allows engine coolant to leak around the head gasket seal between your engine block and cylinder heads. Any of these mix together it’s certain disaster for your engine. We make sure your engine doesn’t over heat due to coolant leak, faulty radiator or blown hose.

Oil Changes: We all know the importance of regular oil changes and we strongly recommend an oil change and filter every 3,000.

Each time your vehicle comes in for service our ASE certified technicians look for small problems that could become an unexpected emergency. We also visually inspect your engine to make sure it doesn’t over heat due to a coolant leak, faulty radiator or blown hose.

No matter what make or model your vehicle is, our engine experts have the skills and state-of-the-art equipment to properly diagnose, service and repair your engine.
